About

HomesafeKids was established in 2000 to assess the safety of homes for new parents. Having completed many hundreds of child safety assessments, it was apparent that safety products readily available from retail outlets rarely provided adequate safety.

The most noticeable problem was child safety barriers. Heavily protected by legal disclaimers, installation conditions and setback requirements, the declining handyman competence of the average Australian dad combined with built environment issues, rarely allows for these conditions to be met. The attempted solution would often become the hazard!

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare:

“Falls accounted for close to half (45.9% or around 30,500) of hospitalised injury cases and were the most common reason for injury hospitalisation of children across all age groups”.

“Children are vulnerable to certain types of injuries depending on their age, reflecting their stage of development. Very young children are particularly vulnerable to injury as they are not yet able to adequately assess the risks involved in new activities and avoid potential dangers”.

HomesafeKids research has identified a range of products that satisfy safety, quality and longevity requirements for an expanding family.

Additionally, customisation and damage free installation enables products to be adapted to high quality fit outs, rental properties, and a range of precious substrates such as glass laminate and stone.
